Dieses Projekt, von Vito Pace im Rahmen der zweiten Biennale von Shirjaevo (Tangibility in Russland 2001) gegründet, ist ein Büro und Ort des Austausches künstlerischer und multimedialer Arbeit. Ein Ort der Diskussion sowie der Archivierung und der Sammlung der zugesandten Materialien.

Die Natur des Projektes führte zur Fortsetzung sowohl im Web (in Zusammenarbeit mit kultur.at / Martin Krusche und rhizome.org) als auch innerhalb von Workshops. Es entstand Zusammenarbeit mit mehreren Universitäten und Kunstakademien.

Alle diese reellen und virtuellen Ergebnisse stellen den Weg von „Kontora Mir“ dar. Ebenso dessen Abschluß. In der Ausstellung „DER TRANSFER IST AUS“ („il transfer finito“), die in Mailand am 5. und 6. Juni 2006 bei „Durchblick“ (in Zusammenarbeit mit Piscina Comunale / arte in copisteria und Casa di Tolleranza) stattfindet, baut der Künstler ein ambiente ex-novo auf.

Im „Kulturverein Durchblick“ nimmt „Kontora Mir“ das erste Mal einen tatsächlichen Ort in Anspruch, um seine Tätigkeit durchzuführen: Das „Büro Pace“ schließt.

Dies ist eine der Möglichkeiten des Projektes. Aber auch die Durchführung den Abschlusses ist eine eigene Option. „Kontora Mir“ macht aus seinem Ende ein Bankett, an dem die sechs Jahre Erfahrung und Beiträge genossen werden können. Durch jene, die sich im Rahmen des „Büros Pace“ getroffen haben.

Diese letzte Erfahrung ist unumgänglich Quelle neuen Austausches, neuer Treffen. Die Erfahrung des Endes schließt zwar den Transferprozess ab, verhindert aber zugleich einen konkreten Abschluss.

KONTORA MIR (The Office of Peace),

a project founded by Vito Pace as part of the 2nd Biannual Festival in Shirjaevo, Tangibility, Russia in 2001, is a place for artistic and multimedial intercommunication, a discussion forum, and a site for archiving and collecting the submitted materials.

The nature of the original project led to a continuation both in the Web, in cooperation with kultur.at / Martin Krusche and rhizome.org, as well as in workshops and collaborations with several universities and art academies. These real and virtual results represent both the process and the conclusion of Kontora Mir.

In the exhibition DER TRANSFER IST AUS (The transfer has been completed), the artist will a construct an «ambiente ex-novo.» The exhibition will be presented in Milan on June 5th and 6th 2006 at Durchblick, in cooperation with Piscina Comunale/arte in copisteria and Casa di Tolleranza.

In using the Durchblick exhibition space, Kontora Mir is, for the first time, utilizing an actual physical space for its activities: The Office of Peace is closing down. This represents one of the possible developments of the project, but also the specificmanner in which the project is brought to a close. The conclusion of Kontora Mir represents a banquet, during which the 6 years of experience and contributions acquired in the Office of Peace can be relished.

This final experience is an inevitable source of new communication and encounters – experiencing the conclusion excludes a further transfer process, at the same time eliminating the possibility of a tangible conclusion.
